The Five Nights at Freddy’s movie is now confirmed to be arriving in October of this year, and just in time for Halloween. The popular game first made its debut in 2014 and it looks like the major motion picture will now arrive shortly before the game’s 10th anniversary.
The confirmation of the release date comes from Blumhouse Productions Founder, Jason Blum, who explained in a Tweet that Five Nights at Freddy’s will be hitting theaters on October 27th, 2023.
In a separate Instagram post, Blumhouse confirmed that the movie is also set for a streaming release on the exact same day. As a result, those that don’t want to head to the theater to see the FNAF movie will be able to sit back, fire up Peacock, and stream it at home instead.
Peacock is also currently the exclusive home of M3GAN, which is another movie from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse. Unlike Five Nights at Freddy’s, however, M3GAN did not become available to stream on the same day as its theatrical release.
According to Blumhouse, Five Nights at Freddy’s tells the story of a troubled security guard who begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza and quickly finds out that the night shift won’t be so easy to make it through.
In addition to the release date, Blumhouse has also confirmed multiple members of the cast including Josh Hutcherson (Ultraman, The Hunger Games), Matthew Lillard (Good Girls, Scream), Elizabeth Lail (You, Mack & Rita), Kat Conner Sterling (We Have A Ghost, 9-1-1), Piper Rubio (Holly & Ivy, Unstable) and Mary Stuart Masterson (Blindspot, Fried Green Tomatoes).
