Marry F*** Kill is a new horror/thriller movie that’s now available to stream on Tubi for free. This is actually a Tubi Original which means you won’t find the movie available to watch through any other streaming service.
If you’re not a Tubi user, that won’t be too much of an issue considering it is a remarkably unmemorable movie. For Tubi users, it is just about good enough to make it worth adding to your Tubi watchlist for when there’s nothing else to watch.
In terms of the plot, here’s how Tubi describes Marry F*** Kill:
“After their friend Beth’s suicide, five estranged friends learn Beth bequeathed them her ancestral home – but unbeknownst to them, they’ve inherited something far more sinister.”
And here’s the trailer.
Marry F*** Kill is worth a watch, so long as it is fairly far down your watchlist and you’ve exhausted all the other options. While it is not the most original or interesting of stories, it does attempt to make a big play to be sexy, albeit without actually being sexy.
After the death of their friend, a group of friends are reunited for the funeral. A gather which brings its own tensions due to their past relationships with each other and the group as a whole. In particular, the plot revolves around Grant, who, without any real explanation, seems to be the object of everyone’s affection and attention.
Along with Grant, all of the main characters are highly unlikeable. Even then, some manage to prove more dislikeable than the rest. In fact, the cast do a good enough job of making you dislike them that there’s actually some payoff with each death scene. The problem is, the death scenes are pretty unremarkable and forgettable in their own right.
The main story doesn’t really start to kick in until about half way through the 88-minute runtime. At which point, we start to realize that there’s a deeper reason for everyone’s fascination with Grant.
One of Marry F*** Kill‘s biggest issues is that it just isn’t all that scary. Up until the last few minutes, the lack of any real scares makes this feel more like a drama than a thriller, let alone a horror.
As the movie does eventually run its course, it does attempt to explain things before offering one last twist and turn. However, the chances are good that you won’t really care all that much by then. We didn’t.
Overall, there’s a fair amount wrong with this movie, so it is one you could happy skip. However, as there are a ton of horror and thriller movies on Tubi that are far worse, it is also one we can recommend for those times when you are really stuck for something to watch.
